Microsoft Corporation is an American multinational corporation and technology company headquartered in Redmond, Washington. Its best-known software products are the Windows line of operating systems, the Microsoft 365 suite of productivity applications, the Azure cloud computing platform, and the Edge web browser. Its flagship hardware products are the Xbox video game consoles and the Microsoft Surface lineup of touchscreen personal computers.

Challenges

Microsoft faced the challenge of migrating customers from an outdated directory product, which was reaching end-of-life, to a new version of Active Directory. This switch was critical as continued support would no longer be available for the old version, and Microsoft needed to ensure customer compliance with the upgrade.

Solution

IRC was engaged to work with five Microsoft resellers in the New York and New England area. They identified customers who had not yet transitioned to the new Active Directory version and contacted them to facilitate their migration. Qualified leads were then handed over to the resellers for conversion assistance.

Results

IRC effectively generated leads by identifying and notifying customers who needed to upgrade. This effort resulted in increased license sales for Microsoft and service revenue opportunities for the resellers, who assisted customers with the transition to Active Directory.
